| Ian Essen |
 Ian Essen (pronounced "E-N") is the pharmacist manager at Focus Express Mail Pharmacy. With over 35 years of pharmacy experience, Ian brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his job. For most of his career, Ian was a community or retail pharmacist. Beginning in 1968 as a clerk, then a pharmacy student intern, pharmacist and pharmacy manager, Ian worked for independent pharmacies in Northeast Philadelphia. His career changed in 1993, when he joined a fledgling mail-order pharmacy where he could combine his expertise as a clinician with the personalized service that he was known for in retail.
Focus Express Mail Pharmacy is fortunate to have someone like Ian who is so dedicated to his patients and their ongoing medical conditions. His knowledge of chronic diseases such as diabetes, asthma, arthritis, heart disease, hypertension, and more as well as their treatment is unsurpassed. Ian and his staff pride themselves in knowing each patient personally just like he and his parents knew "Doc" at the corner pharmacy in their neighborhood.
Ian has been married for 25 years to Michele and they have 2 boys: Avrom, a college student, and Aaron, who is entering his senior year of high school. An avid reader, Ian especially likes history and science fiction. His love of music is demonstrated every summer when he volunteers for the annual Philadelphia Folk Festival which he's done for over 20 years. For relaxation, Ian likes nothing better than to have a "rowdy" evening of playing pinochle with his friends
Ian received his Bachelors Degree in Science from Temple University School of Pharmacy in 1975. |
