Focus Express Mail Pharmacy Pioneers National Health Education Program: PEDS FOR PREVENTION
In April 2008, Focus Express Mail Pharmacy pioneered a national health education program, Peds for Prevention™ that kicked-off at Haverford School District Elementary Schools (Pennsylvania) in conjunction with a statewide initiative, the Child Wellness Plan.
Focus’ initial goal of the Peds for Prevention™ program was to provide grant monies to school systems to sustain necessary health education programs to keep students active. Focus committed approximately $25,000 in pedometers, educational materials, programs and grant monies to Haverford.
Focus CEO Joel Shpigel is Named as a Montgomery County Civil Rights Award Winner
Joel Shpigel R.Ph., CEO of Focus Express Mail Pharmacy was honored on May 12, 2009 with the Montgomery County Advisory Council Joseph X. Yaffe-Robert Johnson Smith Civil Rights Award for Community Service. Mr. Shpigel was one of seven award winners of this annual award which recognize community, law enforcement, religion and education leaders who have advanced civil rights, equal opportunity or intergroup relations in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
2008 JDRF Walk in Boca Raton Sponsored by Focus Express Mail Pharmacy
Focus Express Mail Pharmacy sponsored the 2008 Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s “Walk to Cure Diabetes” on Saturday, March 29 in Boca Raton, FL. As a sponsor, Focus donated $5,000 to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in efforts to fund diabetes research and education in hope of discovering a cure.

On March 1st, 2008, Focus Express Mail Pharmacy changed the filler material that is being used for packing medications and supplies for shipping
Focus Celebrates Fifth Anniversary in November of 2007
In November of 2002, Nick & Lisa Braccia of Chalfont,PA, Joel Shpigel of Richboro,PA, and Rae London of Huntingdon Valley,PA joined forces to launch Focus Express Mail Pharmacy, a web based pharmacy with a community agenda and practice.Their start-up goals included providing expert service, outstanding customer care, and convenient home delivery of medications and medical supplies to insurance qualified patients with diabetes and other chronic illnesses. Today, five years later, they celebrate their continued success in reaching the local and internet community.
SUGAR FREE RETREAT FOR CHILDREN WITH DIABETES
Focus Express Mail Pharmacy was again a lead sponsor for the American Diabetes Association's "Sugar Free Retreat for Children With Diabetes and Follow the Yellow Brick Road Gala". The 2007 Fall Retreat for children with diabetes and their families provided diabetes education, recreational experiences as well as a venue for emotional support. It was held September 8th and 9th, 2007 at Camp Arrowhead in Lewes, Delaware. The Follow the Yellow Brick Road Gala was held November 16th, 2007.

Pharmacy School of Temple University
In sincere appreciation of Focus Express Mail Pharmacy's support to the Temple University School of Pharmacy by renewing its gift to the Russell H. Conwell Society Annual Fund, Focus C.E.O Joel Shpigel R.Ph. (Class of 1976) was honored by being invited again to be a Cloaker at the Annual White Coat Ceremony on Tuesday, September 11, 2007. This ritual for new students of the Pharmacy school serves as both a welcome and a means of transitioning into the profession.
FOCUS Recognized by the American Diabetes Association
The American Diabetes Association has recognized Focus Express Mail Pharmacy for its support of over $100,000 in 2006. Focus will continue to support the Association’s mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. The American Diabetes Association is the nation's leading 501(C)3 nonprofit health organization providing diabetes research, information and advocacy.

Focus Pharmacy Donates $25K to JDRF Representatives to Sponsor Four Fundraising Walks
Focus Express Mail Pharmacy donated $25,000 and was a major sponsor at four walks benefitting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) of Philadelphia and South Jersey in the Fall of 2008. These “Walks for the Cure” took place in Parvin State Park, Salem County, NJ on 10/5/08, Cooper River Park in Pennsauken, NJ on 10/19/08, and the Philadelphia Art Museum in Philadelphia, Pa. and the Bucks County Community College in Newtown, Pa., both on 10/26/08. These annual events attract thousands of people to raise monies to support research efforts in finding a cure for diabetes and its complications. “It is an honor for all of us at Focus Pharmacy to provide our continued support to the diabetes community to raise awareness for juvenile diabetes and research," said Joel Shpigel, R.Ph./CEO.

Ryan Haight was born on December 28, 1982 and died on February 12, 2001 from an overdose of prescription drugs he had purchased on the Internet. He was only 18 when he died.
