2008 JDRF Walk in Boca Raton Sponsored by Focus Express Mail Pharmacy
Focus Express Mail Pharmacy sponsored the 2008 Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s “Walk to Cure Diabetes” on Saturday, March 29 in Boca Raton, FL. As a sponsor, Focus donated $5,000 to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in efforts to fund diabetes research and education in hope of discovering a cure.
Approximately 1.4 million children have juvenile diabetes in the United States and an estimated 13,000 new cases develop every year, making those children dependent on injected or pumped insulin for life. Being insulin dependent carries the constant danger of developing life-threatening complications such as kidney failure, heart disease, stroke, and amputation. The "Walk to Cure Diabetes" is a walkathon held in 170 locations throughout the United States every year benefiting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Last year over $90 million dollars was raised.
“This is a wonderful way for us to give back to the community and raise awareness for juvenile diabetes and research," said Joel Shpigel, R.Ph., CEO and Co-Founder of Focus Express Mail Pharmacy.Back to News List
